I'm pretty excited about starting my very own blog, and I think the best place to start is the beginning. So, fittingly, this is the first ever 'Film Journal' picture ever taken. It was taken in the backyard of my host family's house in Japan, Jan 1st 2009. They were kind enough to take me in for new years, and have me dressed in one of their own kimono's. Kimono's are quite expensive to purchase or rent, so I was very lucky that they owned three in my size! It took hours of straightening and tying before i was properly dressed, and I imagine it would be rather similar to wearing a corset.
